Every organisation has data at its heart, yet many lack a data strategy or have failed to implement one effectively. Reflecting on his experience gained in many of the organisations in which he has worked, Ian has constructed a comprehensive way to capture the scale of the challenge whilst focusing on how to transition to successful implementation.

A successful data strategy implementation is transformational, impacting everyone within the organisation to varying degrees. Ian will share his observations on the challenges this brings, how it can impede the implementation and share some of his thoughts on how to tackle this.

It will be an opportunity to explore how change can be delivered effectively in organisations, and share experiences in defining and executing a data strategy within your own organisations

Ian has over 30 years’ experience in data and analytics across a dozen industry sectors in public and private sector, making him one of the foremost experts in delivering change focused on one of the most critical assets in organisations today.

In 2021, he published Data Strategy: from definition to execution in conjunction with BCS Publishing, the most comprehensive guide to the end-to-end process of successfully embedding data and its exploitation into an organisation.

As an experienced programme director and manager in data and analytics at some of the most recognisable organisations in the UK, Ian has been at the forefront of change in a number of organisations and highlights the importance of understanding and working in the environment of change to deliver a successful data strategy implementation.
