It is Walk to Work Day! Which, when you work from home means that the brief skip down the stairs in the morning, or across the hallyway results in you being ahead of the game before 8am. But Walk to Work Day is not just about commuting, the mental health benefits of exercise and fresh air and proven, and the advantages of distinct start and end to the working day are beginning to because apparent for homeworkers.
Being able to roll out of bed and pick up your laptop without having to face the outside world does have some advantages – however more and more remote workers are taking the time for a “fake commute” to bookend the working day, and get back some of that mental space and me time that the commute allows. But without a packed train carriage in sight.
